Privacy policy

What we collect

When you join the waitlist, enter a giveaway or get in touch, we collect the details you give us: your name, email, mobile number and postcode and, depending on the form, the membership you’re interested in and your social media handles. When you visit the site, we also collect how you found us, such as the link or campaign you came from and the page you landed on, and technical details such as your IP address, browser and device, partly through cookies.

How we use it

We use your information to keep you updated about Saunday by email and text, such as opening news, founding memberships and offers; to run giveaways you enter; to see which links and campaigns bring people to Saunday and to measure and improve our advertising; and to run, improve and protect the website.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to understand visits and signups, see which links and campaigns bring people to us, and measure our advertising. For visitors in Australia this measurement is on unless you switch it off; elsewhere, we ask first. You can change your choice at any time in Cookie settings, turn on your browser’s Global Privacy Control, or block cookies in your browser.

PostHog gives your browser a random identifier to recognise return visits. After you sign up, we link those visits to your Saunday signup record using its internal identifier. We send page and signup activity, but not your name, email, mobile number or form contents to PostHog. Session recording is disabled.

Who we share it with

We share personal information with service providers that help us run Saunday, such as those that host the website, store our records, send our emails and texts, and measure website use and advertising, and only so they can do that work. Advertising platforms may receive details of your visit and, after you sign up, a scrambled (hashed) version of your email so they can match your sign-up to our ads. We don’t sell your personal information. We may also disclose it when the law requires us to.

Information held overseas

Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, mainly in the United States and Singapore.

Unsubscribing

Every marketing email and text we send includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can email us at hello@saunday.co.

Seeing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing hello@saunday.co. We’ll respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you’re concerned about how we’ve handled your personal information, email hello@saunday.co and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we keep it only for as long as we need it for these purposes or the law requires.
